The 2-year Master in Public Policy (MPP) programme provides a strong foundation in conceptual and analytical skills for future public service leaders and individuals with an interest in understanding and influencing how public policy choices are made.
Areas of Concentration
In particular, MPP students deepen their understanding of a specific field by focusing on one of five areas of concentration:
To obtain direct practical experience, students also undertake a public policy or management study, called the Policy Analysis Exercise, for a client in the public, private, or non-profit sector.
Internships
Most students also take internships with organisations that are relevant to their studies, such as the United Nations Environment Programme (Bangkok); National Economic Development Authority (Philippines); World Bank (Washington, DC); Government Investment Corporation (Singapore); and Standard Chartered Bank.
Scholarships
The scholarships are offered on a competitive basis. Applicants must have good academic and professional records. They must also have demonstrated leadership and a desire to contribute to public service. Not all the awards will be made unless there are candidates of sufficient merit. Scholars may not concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship or award without the prior approval of the School.
There is no bond or obligation for the scholar to be employed by NUS or in Singapore.

2. South Sunshine Scholarship Program (see http://www.esit.org.tw)

The Southern Sunshine Scholarship (SSS) program is a joint initiative by the ESIT (Elite Study In Taiwan) Program Office and the participating finest ESIT Consortium universities. It is designed for the candidates from Southeastern Asia region who are interested in coming to Taiwan to pursue their advanced degrees.

- Academic Programs: English-instructed programs of study in various discipline (see http://www.esit.org.tw.)
- Scholarship offering: Financial support of tuition waiver or up to qualified candidates to study in Taiwan for up to two years for master's and four years for doctoral depending on the program offering ESIT Consortium university.
- Language Qualifications: To qualify for the Southern Sunshine Scholarship, the candidate must have minimum English language command of international TOEFL PBT 550 or equivalent when applying for programs instructed in English; or with minimum Chinese language command of Test of Proficiency-Huayu (TOP) Level 4 certificate when applying for programs instructed in Chinese.
- Academic Qualifications: The Southern Sunshine Scholarship candidates must pass the admission review of the applying Consortium university to approve the academic qualifications.
